          IT IS STILL FALL!!

                   AND FALL IS STILL

                              FOR PLANTING!!!

Customers have always been delighted with our park-like setting where TREES AND SHRUBS are displayed. Meandering paths lead through Dogwoods, Cherries, and Birches. Ornamental trees are grouped together and include many that bloom after Cherries, Pears, and Crabapples.  Ambleside carries American Dogwoods and the Rutgers Hybrid Dogwoods (Stellar Pink, Constellation, and Venus) as well as pink and white Kousa Dogwoods. Other garden favorites include Redbuds (in shrubform, treeform, or weeping), Fringetrees in both shrub and tree form ( American and Chinese), Japanese Styrax and the unusual Styrax Obassia, Japanese Tree Lilacs, Stewartias, and the August blooming Golden Rain Tree.

A huge selection of Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Laurels offers you a spectacular range of colors and extended bloom periods. Don't miss the unusual dwarf Rhododendron varieties--Mary Fleming, Ginny Gee, Kiskei, Patty Be, Windbeam, Dora Amateis, Baden Baden--and the dwarf late blooming Azalea varieties-- Pink Pancake, Alexander, Wintergreen, Frosted Orange, Michael Hill, Shira Fuji, and Susan Oliver--flowering into July.

For summer flowers choose from Ambleside's selection of Spirea, Butterfly Bushes--including the new dwarf 'Flutterby Petite Blue Heaven'--Rose of Sharon, Blue Mist Spirea, and Crepe Myrtles. Ambleside also carries the Forever and Ever Hydrangeas as well as Endless Summer Hydrangea.

Don't miss the connoisseur's corner filled with many hard to find plants like dwarf Daphnes, and dwarf and weeping Dawn Redwoods and Bald Cypresses. Look for the unusual dwarf Elms, Ginkgos, and Japanese White Pines suitable for use as bonsai. And of course, throughout the connoisseur's corner are many very rare and unusual Japanese Maples--Shirazz, Bihou, and Ryusen being some of this year's additions.

This year's collection of dwarf evergreens and rock garden gems is better than ever. Try any of the popular dwarf Hinoki Cypress varieties--Lynn's Golden, Verdoni, Blue Feathers, Split Rock, or Snowkist.  For added accent, many of these are now available in a "topgrafted" form creating a miniature tree!  Dwarf Spruces, Pines, and Cryptomerias also are perfect in the rock garden. All of these are located near the waterfall garden where children love to search for frogs!
